The PEACEFIGHTERS was established with a powerful mission: fostering peace and respect through the captivating world of sports.
With excitement and enthusiasm, the PEACEFIGHTERS made its grand entrance at the UNICEF European HQ in Geneva on April 17, 2008. The launch was met with warm reception from none other than Ireland's esteemed President at the time, Mrs. Mary McAleese. Additionally, members from the diplomatic community, including the British Ambassador to Switzerland and Swiss dignitaries, wholeheartedly embraced this remarkable initiative.
This exciting initiative was the brainchild of Carl Emery from Switzerland and Billy Murray from Northern Ireland, both former World Champions in Kickboxing. Their vision? To unite martial arts enthusiasts from Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Switzerland through inter-community sessions and exhilarating international events like competitions, demonstrations, and training sessions. Get ready for an incredible journey of camaraderie and skill!
The PeaceFighters have journeyed far and wide, spanning across European cities, Corsica, Sardinia, the UK, and Ireland. They've even spread their mission to Japan, China, South America, and Africa!
Their noble efforts primarily revolve around supporting underprivileged children and youth. Recently, they embarked on an impactful trip to war-torn Ukraine, where they are actively exploring ways to work directly with the children affected. Stay tuned for updates on this meaningful endeavour!
